Overview
Design Rule Check (DRC) is the first and core quality gate in the PCB manufacturing lifecycle, completed before formal production starts. It is a systematic, software-driven inspection process that verifies whether customer-provided PCB design files fully match our domestic production capabilities, global industry standards, and downstream assembly requirements. This process eliminates potential design defects, manufacturability risks, and electrical performance failures at the earliest stage, to avoid batch rework, delivery delays, and unnecessary cost overruns for our customers. All DRC protocols are formulated in strict accordance with IPC-2221, IPC-2222 international standards.
Execution Specifications
All DRC operations follow the latest IPC international standards for rigid PCB, flexible PCB, and HDI PCB design
Inspection parameters are customized based on our actual production line capabilities, to ensure 100% feasibility of qualified designs in mass production
DRC rules are updated synchronously with our production process upgrades, covering all conventional and special process requirements
Customer-specific design requirements are prioritized in the DRC process, with professional optimization suggestions provided without changing the core design functions
Full-Coverage Inspection Dimensions
Trace width and spacing compliance verification
Annular ring size and drill hole diameter matching inspection
Layer stack-up structure and dielectric thickness parameter verification
Impedance control design feasibility inspection
Solder mask clearance and silkscreen print range verification
Panelization design and process edge compliance check
Thermal relief and copper pouring structure rationality inspection
Blind and buried via, laser micro-via design feasibility verification
Pre-Production Optimization Mechanism
Our in-house engineering team provides 1-on-1 optimization suggestions for all non-compliant design items
We prioritize manufacturability optimization without changing the original electrical design and functional layout
Optimized solutions are provided with detailed parameter comparisons, for customer confirmation before formal production
Complex designs are subject to secondary DRC re-inspection after optimization, to ensure full compliance with production requirements
Cross-Team Review Process
All DRC results are reviewed by both front-end customer service engineers and professional manufacturing engineers
High-complexity designs are subject to joint review by the engineering team, quality control team, and domestic production workshop
Special process designs are verified with the production team in advance, to ensure the feasibility of the final solution
All review results and optimization suggestions are documented in writing, with full traceability
Traceability Management System
All DRC inspection reports for each order are archived for a minimum of 3 years
Design optimization records, customer confirmation documents, and re-inspection reports are bound to the order file for full traceability
DRC execution records are included in the batch quality report, which can be provided to customers upon request
Non-compliant design items and processing results are statistically analyzed to continuously optimize our DRC rule system
